True leaders are generous and love to serve others. They are filled with joy when they see people succeed at their endeavors. They do not need to scold, belittle or shame people into following. Leaders inspire, encourage and build up others.

We are faced with a severe lack of quality business leaders today. It has been established that most people want to follow rather then lead others. Most believe it is safer to work for someone else then start their own business. People will follow because of fear when leadership in absent. But they will revolt when they believe they have been tricked or lied to. With companies failing and millions out of work, people are looking for direction and safety.

This is a great time for those with leadership skills. Someone who can offer valid opportunities and support to make things happen will find a following of people ready to sign on.

It is sad to see someone consumed by predators who are only interested in making a fast buck. Like parasites, they attach themselves, suck out their reward and leave their host worse off then they found them.

Leaders on the other hand build people up with new skills and talents. They encourage their followers even when mistakes are made. They turn the error into training and a learning experience. Leaders give gifts, which to many, are greater then gold. They offer praise and encouragement.

True leaders are generous and love to serve others. They are filled with joy when they see people succeed at their endeavors. They do not need to scold, belittle or shame people into following. Leaders inspire, encourage and build up others.

Leaders are trained rather then born. They study leadership with passion and thirst. They know education will make them stronger and more capable to empower others.

If you are willing to do the work, others will follow.

Please become a leader. We need you.

Few things run well without leadership. Even mechanical devices required innovative engineers to develop a quality design. An experienced leader understands it’s about being able to focus and direct the combined energy of a group of people. Motivation is your accelerator. It will shift your team into a higher gear allowing you to achieve more with less effort.

Threats, spoken or not, will achieve the opposite effect. They will cause an automatic reaction in your employee’s brain, which will cause then to make more errors and cut off their problem solving skills.

Unexplained closed-door meetings are like introducing the flu to the group. Some employees feel secure with their job and will not react, while others will need to take a sick day and upgrade their resume. An information vacuum will suck the life from your workers and replace it with fear.

Your team needs the nutrition of appreciation and encouragement to grow to their potential. You can transform a lagging employee with a simple, “Good Job” or “Thank You.” Utilizing appreciation will make your job much easier. You will also find that appreciation is contagious. You will find your team working together rather then protecting their work by sabotaging others.

It would be easier to work with machines, because they do not have emotions. Simply add a little lubrication now and then, and they will work well for years. Your job as a manager of living, breathing employees, is much more challenging then that of a mechanic. So treat them with respect. They are your number one assets!
